hey there
i keep running into problems trying to find a cocktail making class so i have decided to put that part of my project on hold for the moment and focus on the second part of my project which is designing my bar. iv been to a few cocktail bars in the last week just to have a look at some basics set ups and see what seems to work in terms of best use of space and customer service as well as themes and music. i have also been checking out some images of cocktail bars on the internet as it gives me a wider range to look at although its not as good as physically seeing the bar. iv started keeping a folder of images that i think will help me with desingning my bar. my plan is to create a scrap book with ideas and images for my bar and then have i final picture of what my bar will look like, i will also scan the whole thing at the end if i decide to do a power point presentation.
iv had the idea if i cant find a short course or class to learn cocktail making then i will look up some popular recipes and teach myself or maybe try and find someone with bar experience to teach me because it is something i am keen to learn.
over all i think my progress with my project is going fairly well, i know where its heading and im still enjoying it and finding it interesting. so thats all for now.

  1. teaching yourself sounds like a good option - have you found any good web sites with video tutorials and recipes?

One option you may consider with bar design is to visit the Marksman Hotel in Second Life - you could build your bar there (with a little help) and that way get to see what it looks like from a design point of view - space, service and music.

Let me know if you are interested in doing this.

Here are some pics of the hotel which is being used by hospitality and tourism students.
